We are thinking about future litters with a new girl in four years or so, but.... they will not be pure Shiloh Shepherds.
The outcome of all the courses and lectures that I have followed on genetics (Pieter Oliehoek, Ed Gubbels, Marjoleine Roosendaal and Carol Beuchat) is that it's clear that ALL dog breeds need some outcross blood every now and then, and preferably from a completely different breed. Thus, one improves genetic diversity drastically, and reduces the chance of the appearance of health issues, minor or major, in the individuals. So, that will be our goal for Tattoo's next heat! Exciting.
I have been in touch with several people willing to cooperate in this venture, so the exact plans will be known in due time. Are you interested in being a home to one of these outcross puppies? Let me know! Would you even be willing to help build the future generations by keeping the dog intact and breeding it back to old line Shilohs? Even better!
