Totem, being very big, needed a C-section to be born. In surgery, he was nicknamed 'Superman' because of his size, and because of the fact that he had one front leg bent and one streched out in front of him. 
We are very blessed with him, he is as sweet as he is big. He can really melt your heart, cuddling up against you on the couch. Also, it used to be impossible for me to leave on my bike without him, because he would climb the 50" gate, and sneak through the automatic gate before it closed to come after me, trailing my scent until he found me (at my daughter's schoolyard, or once at a party...). 

He obeys out of love, force or blackmail with treats are counterproductive, but doesn't see the point in doing things quickly or repeatedly. Harsh commands won't work on him, he will comply when asked in a friendly way. 

Totem serenades along with the sirens being tested every first Monday of each month, treating us to the most beautiful soulful howling.
