We moved the puppies to the living room. Part of it looks like a stable now. On the floor we used hemp, to comply with the image foreigners must have of us Dutch people living near Amsterdam, lol. However, I must disappoint you, it's a non hallucinogenic kind.... Reportedly it's less dusty and more absorbing than wood chips.
The light is much better here, so lots of photos to come! I hate having to use the flash

We can see the little teeth. Poor mommy! This week the pups have show a lot of interaction and they are also reacting to our entering the room. They will come up to us, wagging their little tails, and crawl on our laps. They have started play fighting and are practicing their growls and barks, but the sounds they make are endearing rather than intimidating. So sweet!
Today the puppies and Link got their treatments against worms. They will get it every two weeks
The eyes have opened. I'll try to take photos without flash to
I am amazed at how well Link is doing as a mom. She can tell when the babies need to be fed, from when they are just making noise. I let her decide, and she goes into the whelping box at will, when she sees fit. And the puppies are doing fine in general, though I want to keep an eye on the littler ones, to make sure they get their time to drink
In between meals, the milk bar for the puppies, Link enjoys her stays outside. She started chasing the birds again, so she must be feeling good, to run around like that! The puppies are doing exactly what they are supposed to do: eat, sleep, pee, poo, and then start all over again, but it's a wonderful sight! Their movement, the little sounds
Link is doing an awesome job being a mom! She is patient and caring, she lies down for the puppies to nurse as often as they want, and she cleans them thouroughly. The babies are doing well, and growing steadily.
Made a whole album with puppy photos, check Link became a mom on Mothers' Day. Unfortunately first she gave birth to a tiny stillborn girl. So sad. Then to 4 wonderful puppies. The next one was a bit too big, so the vet needed to help pull it out softly after a shot of oxytocin. As we drove home, Link gave birth to another girl in the back of the car! And finally the last one at home. So we have 7 amazing little creatures, 2 boys and 5 girls. Little miracles, right before your eyes...
